I have a great deal of love for oversized sweatshirts. It’s a love that comes from a red lifeguard sweatshirt I purchased when I was 13 from one of those quaint coast towns, Morro Bay to be exact. I wore this damn sweatshirt everyday for a year in my sophomore year of high school. Ask anyone, it was my signature piece. There is something about the long sleeves which you can cup into the palm of your hand and snuggle up with and of course it is the comfiest fall/winter clothing item next to a snuggie. Most people have the preconceived notion that sweatshirts are sloppy garments not meant to be worn in public as a “stylish” piece. And I am here to put those assumptions to rest. Almost anything can be suitable and chic if styled correctly!
Case in point, this ILY Couture graphic sweatshirt. I knew this was the perfect starter item for my Fall 2015 wardrobe, it’s a classic neutral grey, the typography is crisp and modern and it’s something I can dress down with jeans and flat boots or dress up as I have done here. I wore this look on a shopping excursion over the weekend and swapped out my sandals with heels for a late lunch. I paired my Retail Therapy sweatshirt (so fitting huh?…since that’s exactly what I did) with a faux fringe mini skirt and nude accessories. I think my go-to color combo is going to be grey and nude this fall…such a dreamy color palette.
What do you guys think of this comfy yet chic look?
I personally am a fan!
